A regulation full-size table is 12 ft x 6 ft 3. One white cue ball, 15 red balls worth one point each, and six balls of different colours yellow 2 points , green 3 , brown 4 , blue 5 , pink 6 and black 7 are used. The 15 reds are initially arranged in a triangular 'pack' and each colour is positioned on its own special 'home' spot. Who takes the first shot or 'breaks' is decided by the toss of the coin.
