My Studio. Now on Mavericks in PT If not enabled, I would hear silence on the record armed track granted there was nothing recorded on it before regardless if the record armed track was recording or in playback. My record and play faders were also linked. In fact I had no idea you could unlink them until I started researching this problem.
LLM does not change this behavior. I guess I should get a plug-in like mute tone or something I just want to know if there is a pro tools preference setting I should change to fix this issue. Last edited by Guitarist; 6th August at PM.. Standard operation is to hear the input when in red "record armed" but during playback you would only hear playback and no input. During record you hear input.
I lit monitoring green is for hearing the input during playback, or to hear input while the transport is stopped but the track is not record armed. I would like to see Instrument tracks have an ' input monitoring button ' A's , and once in a blue moon they may actually record with it. I's so you can experiment with ideas. I's so they can be heard simultaneously 'without record enabling' would surely be a bonus, and it would be less taxing on CPU's and lower latency than current workarounds.
But - This only allows one Instrument track to be monitored only because you can't have multiple VI tracks selected and audible without record-enabling them. You can do that by clicking on the green "I" button on the track you are using to record:. Finally, do not put Auto-Tune on any Group Channels or mix busses, since Auto-Tune can only handle one voice at a time. Multiple channels of audio entering the track where Auto-Tune is instantiated can confuse its pitch algorithm.
