Reflashing xbox 360 after update

Well I tried to update the console and after it reboots I still get the same message saying the update needs to be done. May 4, 3, 32 I'm not sure what you're expecting people to tell you.

It's not working because you're not using the official firmware. That has nothing to do with it. There are no firmware checks except for XBL. OP: go over on xbox-scene and explain the problem.

Select Storage. Of course that will only work if you replace a non-functioning drive with the same make and model. I usually try and pick those up on ebay. So you could in theory replace the printed circuit board from the old drive with the one from the new drive. Most of the time the drives suffer from some sort of mechanical error and thus the circuit board is usable.

This way you are transferring the "key" which is what mates the xbox to its peripherals. If you are unsure take an old CD drive and give it a go.

I've got a mac. I had the same problem of it not reading games. I did the fix where I swapped out the circuit boards. I read a lot of stuff from internet and as I read more I get more confuse.
